We’re giving a round of applause for the passing of the Farm Bill. Read more for some points on why it could be a very great thing for CBD.Posted: December 15th 2018
“The era of hemp prohibition is over.”
As a nation, the Farm Bill, the $867 billion-dollar bill, sets our standards for the food and farm policy. This is important to agriculture no matter what– but year’s passing of the bill has put a little more pep in our step for a specific reason.
On Wednesday, the passing of the Farm Bill set in motion the legalization of Hemp, which is incredibly good news for not only the hemp, CBD and Cannabis industry, but for the masses of people who rely on CBD to safely and effectively treat conditions such as anxiety, insomnia, inflammation, and so much more. To quote the wonderful journalists at Business Insider, “The move alters the language of a major drug law that had previously remained unchanged for half a century and loosely defined hemp alongside marijuana as a controlled substance. The new bill exempts hemp from that law and defines it as an agricultural product. That means farmers and researchers of hemp now get some of the same benefits as farmers and researchers of other crops, like the ability to apply for insurance and federal grants.”
The ban on growing hemp has lasted way too long and we’re so happy to see some changes in the works. The expansion (and acceptance) of CBD as a well-versed treatment could do the physical & mental health of many people some good.
